While tentpole releases usually launch their promos with big films, Yash Raj Films believes in doing things their own way. They’ve done it again with their decision to attach the trailer of Dhoom 3 – which is as big as it gets – to Shuddh Desi Romance (SDR) which releases on September 6. Not only does that show great confidence in the mega-franchise, it also demonstrates the production house’s conviction in SDR. Bravo!

And while on the subject, a few select distributors who were given a sneak peek of the Dhoom 3 trailer are raving about it. Not only is it contrary to all the speculations about the film’s content, it also sets up the scale and class of the film in a simple yet very effective manner. Moreover, while Aamir Khan is undoubtedly the star of the show, the trailer does full justice to each of the other key characters like Abhishek Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Uday Chopra.

Katrina Kaif is one of eight siblings, all girls, from a mother who is a Caucasian of British Nationality, and a father who was formerly from Kashmir, India, but who has since acquired British citizenship. Her mother is now re-settled in Chennai (formerly known as Madras), the Capital of the state of Tamil Nadu in India.

Despite of her positive attitude, she had been stereotyped as "Indian" by extreme right-wingers in Britain who made it clear that she did not quite fit-in with their "Blonde" Caucasian culture; while on the other hand in India itself she had been ranked as an 'outsider' very much like Sonia Gandhi.

Unlike other artistes from foreign lands, Katrina did not experience any difficulties in getting a visa nor of getting it extended in India.

Although linguistically challenged, Katrina puts on a bold face and states that other Bollywood artistes like Sridevi, who did not know Hindi, did get offers from Bollywood film-makers, and she is no different. She has taken Hindi and dancing lessons to fit in with the Bollywood culture. She likes to display a picture of her learning Kathak dancing where she used to dance 7 hours a day non-stop.

Adorned with soft gorgeous looks, she is not easily intimidated, but admits that she is very emotional, sensitive, and concerned about her privacy, Almost an incurable romantic, she prefers to wear comfortable non-revealing clothes when at home, hates to do her hair, and above all dislikes make-up. The unit of De Dana Dan (2009) was shooting in the Sentosa Nature Park in Singapore when a 10-year-old spotted Kaif. It's not my style to either wear minimum clothes, to strip or to even be comfortable with a sex-symbol label. I just want to do good work instead of sporting such meaningless tags. My Hindi was bad about three years ago. I wanted to achieve a certain status in modeling. Through that I got confidence to get into movies. Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya (2005) came at the right time. I had done kathak training which apart from teaching you about dancing also teaches you about emotions. After that experience, I feel this year will be a much better year for me.

I think I have been very lucky so far. I have done a lot of ads and also some films down south. People have liked me. I guess I have found a balance.

Wait and watch. Jee Karda should be on air later this month. We shot at 4am every day to capture the light and it was scorching. To keep cool we would stay in shades and sip fruit juice or mint tea.

Egypt is among the most beautiful countries I have visited - the pyramids, the temples and the landscape are absolutely exotic. I even enjoyed the barbecue dinner on a boat on the Nile. We shot in a number of places and I've come back with fond memories of my trip.

I unwind myself by taking off the costume and make-up as soon as the shoot is over! And get a spa treatment. It is extremely relaxing. Unfortunately, the kind of lifestyle and schedule we have, we hardly get time. Not only actors, but I have seen a lot of directors and journalists with skin problems and believe me, all that can be cured by a spa treatment.

Salman Khan did not help me get movie offers. What rubbish! Will any producer take a risk of millions of rupees at the instance of any person? Everyone knows that the film industry is highly competitive, and one gets a job on one's talent only and not on any recommendation.

My relationship with Salman Khan is too personal to talk about. I take my work like any other regular job and what I do in my personal life is no one's business. I'd rather let my work do all the talking.

Every one has her own love life. Every one has a dream to get a perfect life partner. But this is not so easy in real life. In fact, one doesn't love, it happens. As far as I am concerned, I love a boy who is linked with the film industry. However, I shall not name him. You never know what may happen in future.

Commemorating the centenary year of Indian Cinema in Chicago, the grand show was supposed to bring together Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan on stage after a long time. The show was scheduled to be held in Hoffman Estates in Chicago end August.

However, fresh reports suggest that the show has been called off due to the unavailability of Salman Khan. The actor was going to work on his upcoming film Kick before Chicago. But since there was a delay in his U.K VISA, the shooting schedule of Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kick got delayed!

Salman will now single mindedly focus on Kick and hence it will be tough for him to take out time for a stage concert in middle of shooting. Katrina too, is busy with her projects especially Dhoom 3 which is on in full force and is scheduled to wrap up soon enough to be ready to release in December.

Besides the two big stars backing out, the other stars who were to accompany them have given away their dates as well and hence the Chicago show stands cancelled for now. This would have been Salman’s first performance in the city after a gap of 7 years.

Deepika Padukone is on a roll. Even before the release ofChennai Express, the industry is abuzz with rumours that the actress is working with Shah Rukh for the third time in Happy New Year.

Deepika is also pairing up with ex-boyfriend Ranbir in Imtiaz Ali's next project after Bachna Ae Hasino and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.

When asked about it, Deepika chose to play safe by neither confirming or denying the casting news. "I believe every film has its own course and destiny. I believe films choose me, I don't choose films. If it's meant to be it will happen," Deepika told PTI.
"You will know my line up soon. I am focusing on 'Chennai Express' promotions and 'Ram Leela'…Whatever announcements have to be made will be made soon," she added.

On pictures of Ranbir-Katrina (holidaying in Spain) going viral online, Deepika said, "It has never happened with me. I believe if you are a celebrity or public figure… these things are bound to happen. And I don't think you can accuse anybody of anything. If I am a public figure and if someone has captured me then I feel I should have been a little careful."

Katrina had written an open letter to the media after her bikini clad pictures with rumoured boyfriend Ranbir were published in newspapers.

Katrina Kaif has come back from Sri Lanka and was recently spotted at the Mumbai airport. But this time, Ranbir Kapoor did not follow her as he did the last time she was spotted at the airport. Perhaps, for the time being, it is wise for the latest good friends of Bollywood not to be spotted together, else how will they avoid all the so called personal questions?

Irked by her pictures being printed by a magazine, followed by all leading papers and portals, the actress chose to communicate with the media and express her grief and disappointment. I am writing this to say that I feel most upset, distressed and invaded at my pictures published in a film magazine (and which were carried by other media). The pictures were taken while I was on holiday by someone who, in an act of cowardice, has shot without permission and then used the pictures for commercial gain.

There is a breed of journalism that preys on celebrities in the worst possible manner crossing all lines of privacy and decency. Running these pictures shows support for this school of journalism.

I request that all media running these pictures please refrain from doing so. I have a wonderful relationship with the media and have been accessible to the media at all times. There is no reason for this furtive and invasive behaviour.

After holidaying in Spain, Bollywood actors and rumoured lovers Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor have been spotted again – this time in Sri Lanka. The stars, like many others before them, aren’t talking about their alleged relationship but are giving us all the right hints.

If red is the colour of love then the two were rather colour-cooridnated as they were sighted in red clothes in the island country. Ranbir Kapoor is in Sri Lanka to prepare for his role in Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet and Katrina Kaif is reportedly accompanying him- at least till work commitments come calling. The shooting of her upcoming film Bang Bang has been delayed due to her co-star Hrithik Roshan’s surgery and that’s why Katrina is spending some quality time with Ranbir.

And while their photographs were clicked at a coffee shop in Sri Lanka, the two also enjoyed a workout session together with Ranbir’s trainer. Not so long ago the duo were clicked in Spain while holidaying in Ibiza and while Ranbir has maintained his single status in the past, these pictures by Stardust magazine tell another story.


But if you are waiting for an announcement from the two, it looks like there’s a slim chance of that happening. Of the many reasons one could think of, the truth is that they have been involved in very public relationships in the past. Dating a superstar like Salman Khan was never easy. From birthdays to brawls Katrina saw them all. The media circus around it was immense. Ranbir too has gone through the same. He may have scored at the box office with Deepika Padukone in the movie Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani recently but once upon a time things were bitter.
