Shahrukh & Salman Khan’s fan may ban Ranbir Kapoor’s Besharam
Ranbir Kapoor, who has stolen million hearts with his performance in films like Rockstar, Barfi! And Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani seems to face some criticism now by Salman Khan and SRK’s fans.
His upcoming film Besharam’s promo seems to have disappointed many. In one scene he says that ‘Sirf Chulbul naam rakhne se koi Dabangg nahi ban jaata’ which has offended Salman’s fans. While, he is seen singing SRK’s song Tujhe Dekha Toh Yeh Jana Saman while urinating which has disappointed SRK’s fan club.
According to sources, fans have decided to ban his films and have been expressing their disliking on social networking sites.
After giving back to back hits, will Ranbir’s act affect the box office collection of his film?

Why Chennai Express Is A Blockbuster
Having broken every box-office record in less than a week since it released, Shah Rukh Khan and Rohit Shetty's Chennai Express is the new gold standard when it comes to blockbusters. Despite average reviews, Chennai Express did not derail and continues to enjoy good word of mouth among masses. A simple, mainstream comedy that ticks all the boxes of a commercial entertainer, Chennai Express has benefited from a lead pair that does not take itself too seriously, and a director who believes in giving the audience exactly what they want.
Doses Of Clean Family Humor
Top rated TV shows like Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and Comedy Nights With Kapil, give a fair idea of the kind of comedies Indian audiences relate to. And Rohit Shetty is one filmmaker who gets this style bang on. His comedy may not be the LOL kind that an in-form David Dhawan can execute, but he manages to mix a bit of everything that makes Indians laugh. So be it doing Bollywood spoofs or playing on different regional accents or rehashing SMS jokes, Shetty and his writers serve a thali that appeals to everyone from the age of 8 to 80 in the great Indian family. And like Golmaal 3 and Bol Bachchan, his Chennai Express too has something for everyone.
Shah Rukh Khan's Star Power
He may not be the 20-something Rahul of Dil To Pagal Hai, but SRK proves that when it comes to shear screen presence and dialog delivery, he still packs in a solid punch. So when he carries his girl and climbs the steps of a temple, or takes-on her father with a fiery speech in the end, you can't help but surrender in front of his persona.
Deepika Padukone, The Hero Of Chennai Express
The debate over the authenticity of her Tamil accent is irrelevant. What matters now is the acknowledgment of this 'once-wooden' actress' evolution into a bona-fide star, who can hold her own in the presence of any superstar. A transformation that began with Cocktail, and evolved with Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is now complete with Chennai Express. And the fact that her acting chops have peaked at a time when she is looking her best, is a double bonanza for all filmmakers who are queuing up outside her van to make most of the Deepika Padukone phenomena. Deepika drives this train in a way Sridevi and Madhuri used to dominate their films in the early 90s.
Positivity Towards SRK
Be the birth of AbRam or the Salman Khan hug; SRK's happyness quotient is up again. Suddenly all the negativity that had crept into SRK's image post RaOne, seems to be a thing of the past. Staying away from any sort of ugly controversy, SRK has allowed Chennai Express to do all the talking in the promotion of the film. And that has translated into a positive vibe towards the film in the eyes of the paying public, who have welcomed the film with open arms. So much so that despite being constantly compared to Ek Tha Tiger in its box office performance, the film has managed to escape the Khan war and has the nod of the entire trade and fraternity.

SRK doesn’t keep a track of other actors at box office!
Shahrukh Khan's Chennai Express has made a new record at the box office, but the actor claims that when he makes a film he only thinks about his movie and doesn't think about the box office.
While talking about trade analysts, who are busy comparing SRK's Eid release to Salman Khan's movies like Ek Tha Tiger and Dabangg which released on the festival of Eid in the past, the actor believes that there is no competition here. "If I start thinking on everything what people say that I will not be able to work. I don't think there is competition. It's a good time to release any film," said SRK.
"I don't have any calculations at the box office. Also, to be honest I don't know how much other actor's films make money on Friday as I don't remember how much money my last film did on Friday," concluded Shahrukh.

I feel very loved and appreciated by international fans: Shah Rukh
Shah Rukh Khan has revealed that he feels very loved and appreciated, based on the reaction he has received from his international audiences for his movies.
When the 'Chennai Express' star was asked about how global audiences respond to him, he said that the masses feel like he makes films for the people living in England and America, GulfNews.com reported.
The actor said that he's of the opinion that it was a coincidence that good movies just happened to him when people already liked him.

Why Deepika missed SRK’s Eid party ? Reasons Here !
Bollywood has been wondering why Deepika Padukone was missing from Shah Rukh Khan's Eid party.
The actress was in Milan to shoot for a commercial. Apparently, she had made this committment much earlier, because the Chennai Express team had not asked for her dates post release. Of course, Dippy had been closely in touch with SRK through text messages and was fully aware of the enormous response to her latest film.
When she returned to Mumbai on Monday, the actress was visibly happy as she smiled at the waiting press at the airport.

Shahrukh's muffler gifted by Rohit Shetty gets robbed
Rohit Shetty, Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone are celebrating the success of Chennai Express, which has already crossed the 100 crore mark in the opening weekend itself.
And SRK has been going all out to promote his film which has done wonders at the box office. There has also been great camaraderie on the sets between the director and his leading stars.
As per media reports, Rohit Shetty gifted Shahrukh a muffler. But unfortunately for the superstar, during one of his promotions, he was mobbed by the public and his muffler was stolen.
Saddened by this event, SRK even posted on a social networking site that he was robbed of the muffler and sent a message to the snatcher to wear it with love as it was a gift by Rohit.

Will Chennai Express ruin OUATIM 2's chances?
After three years, the sequel to Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai returns, bigger and with a new star cast. The sequel, Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai Dobaara! stars Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha, Imran Khan and Sonali Bendre, with Akshay reprising the role of Emraan Hashmi (who played Shoaib), in a mature avatar for this film.
OUATIM Dobaara! takes off from where the first film ended. Akshay Kumar takes over Emraan Hashmi's role (as Shoaib) who rules Mumbai after killing his mentor Sultan Mirza (Ajay Devgn). A womanizer, Shoaib extends his empire to the Middle East and even the West.
Shoaib's old time love Mumtaz (Sonali Bendre) is always by his side. He then befriends Aslam (Imran Khan) from the slums and the two seem to share a great rapport. Meanwhile, Shoaib has his fair share of enemies who are trying to bring him down. Along the way, he and Aslam encounter a starlet (Sonakshi Sinha) and both fall in love with her. That's when the tables turn. Shoaib and Aslam become enemies and the fight between the two begins, with Shoaib's enemies posing as a double threat to him.
While most of the unit remains the same, (producer, director, writer and music composer) for OUATIM Dobaara!, will it prove to be as lucky as the original and will it be a bigger hit?
While OUATIM had great music with songs like Pee Loon and Tum Jo Aaye that topped the charts, OUATIM Dobaara! seems to have a lukewarm response to its music.
Once again there is a unique star cast for the sequel, just like the original which had Emraan Hashmi, Ajay Devgn and Kangana Ranaut. But this is something director Milan Luthria is used to. "Odd ball casting works for me in all my films, be it OUATIM, OUATIM Dobaara!, Taxi No. 9211, The Dirty Picture or Kachche Dhaage. A lot of questions were asked when I cast Emraan in OUATIM. Everyone said he was non conventional. I was told I had done the worst casting for Silk, who was a dancing superstar. But I wanted to give our film a unique look and it brings different audiences to theatres," says Milan.
While leading lady Sonakshi Sinha has delivered back to back hits, Akshay Kumar is not far behind. The Khiladi of Bollywood has been a mass entertainer and a favourtie with audiences. Viewers are also warming up to this unique star cast with Sonakshi Sinha being paired opposite both Akshay and Imran Khan. This could work in the favour of the film.
Director Milan Luthria comments on this star cast. "We needed an older Shoaib who was 15 years mature since this is a mentor protege franchise. We wanted to the protege from the earlier film to play a mentor in the sequel and that's why we chose Akshay. He was in talks with Ekta to do a film and he also wanted to work with me so why not? Akshay's into comedy and action of late so it was interesting to cast against his type, in an evil role. It will be a good change for his fans and as a director, I would have something different o play with. For Aslam's character, I wanted an earnest, righteous looking actor to play the role and that's how I cast Imran Khan. Sonakshi's a phenomenal actress and I've seen all her work. We wanted an Indian looking girl who is naive and comes from the North to make it into Bollywood. She had to look good against Akshay and Imran so I could not cast an older looking actress. I had to also ensure that Akshay did not look like a cradle snatcher and Imran did not look like a baby against Sonakshi. The actress had to fit well against both the male characters."
This time, the entire team is going all out to promote the film across every medium. But is too much visibility killing curiosity?
OUATIM Dobaara! has also been in the news as it was supposed to release on the same date as Chennai Express which released on Eid. But both Ekta and Milan pushed it by a week, thus cashing in on Independence Day. Milan also sorted the issue with Shahrukh Khan.
But with Chennai Express breaking all records on the day of its opening and still continuing to go strong, will it affect the box office opening of OUATIM Dobaara? Especially since Chennai Express will complete a week on 15th August (the same day that OUATIM Dobaara! releases).

Chennai Express beats Ek Tha Tiger, earns Rs. 33 crore on Day 1
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is a happy man. His ‘Chennai Express’ has collected a decent average of Rs. 33.12 crore on the first day its opening. This means that SRK-Deepika starrer ‘Chennai Express’ has moved ahead of Salman Khan’s ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ that earned Rs. 31.25 crore on day.
Figures collected from trade analyst Taran Adarsh and social media sites reveal that Rohit Shetty’s directorial venture did wonders in box-office by making a record collection of Rs. 6.75 crore from paid previews across India. What is interesting to note is that this romantic-comedy flick has also beaten paid-preview collections of 3 Idiots at Rs. 2.7 crore.
Chennai Express has opened in approximately 3500 screens across the country on August 9. It benefited from the Eid holiday as people went to watch the movie in large number.
SRK is all smiles with this great response and thanked all his fans and well wishers in a press conference that he held at the compound of his Bandra bungalow Mannat.

Chennai Express (2013) *PDVD Rip*
Chennai Express (CE) is a magnificently mounted film. Never having been strong in the story department, CE too has a guillible plot line. Rahul ( Shah Rukh Khan) is asked by his dadi (Kamini Kaushal) to drop his granddad’s ashes in Rameswaram, the southern-most tip of India. He boards the Chennai Express to hoodwink granny but has secretly planned a getaway with his guy friends to Goa. Alas, in Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge fashion, a damsel in distress, Meena ( Deepika Padukone) asks for his outstretched hand as he stands on the footboard. And his Samaritan act changes his destiny.
He discovers she’s the daughter of a Don from a South-side village and her accompanying cousins (hulks in pony tails) want her to return home. Her father wants Meena to marry another hulk (Niketan Dheer) from a nearby village, so he can then rule two villages. Meena resists and insists to her father (Sathyaraj) that it is Rahul who has her fancy. The father relents but the other hulks resist.
From here on, Rahul constantly tries to outsmart the South Indian mob. And as expected in Indian mainstream cinema, he breaks into song-and-dance, gets drunk, blows up jeeps and does a Jim Carryish over-the-top act to get guffaws from a captive audience.

Reasons that makes Sharukh-Rohit Shetty's Chennai Express distinctive
Shah Rukh Khan’s Chennai Express is releasing this Friday and with the extravagant promotions, the buzz around the film is expectedly high. With Shah Rukh, Rohit Shetty and Deepika Padukone being at the helm of the affairs, needless to say, almost every other person is looking forward to the film. We tell you what makes Chennai Express special.
Shah Rukh Khan, undoubtedly, is the numero uno drawing factor for the film. More importantly because he will not be seen in his regular comfort zone of romance and is going beyond boundaries to feature in an action comedy. The last time he tried to do something different with Ra.One, he burnt his hands badly. Nevertheless the buzz around Chennai Express seems to be quite positive.
Director Rohit Shetty is a brand at par with Shah Rukh Khan, if not more. The filmmaker has made a name for himself with his brand of action-comedy films and more importantly is also tagged as the president of the Rs 100 crore club in Bollywood (what with most of his films reaching that mark). Evidently he is one director who was present at all the promotional events of the film with SRK and Deepika. Also the trailer carries his distinct ‘Rohit Shetty entertainer’ mark.
Deepika Padukone made her Bollywood debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Om Shanti Om and the duo shared splendid chemistry. So getting to see them together once again is a treat.
While Chennai Express stars superstar Shah Rukh per se, it pays a tribute to an even bigger superstar – Rajinikanth. Shah Rukh and Deepika do the lungi dance and this in a way is a tribute to the Thalaivar. If you remember, Rajinikanth had a cameo appearance in SRK’s Ra.One where he appeared in the form of ‘Chitti’ – his character from the film Robot. Many feel Rajini’s one-scene appearance had a better impact than whole of Ra.One. Hope the Rajinikanth magic works this time as well!
When names like Shah Rukh Khan and Rohit Shetty are taken in the same breath, one can’t miss the 100 crore mention. Today, it doesn’t matter whether a film is good or bad or even whether a film is hit or flop. The new business benchmark is whether a film touches Rs 100-crore club. And this time it’s not just the trade circles who are talking about it. The satellite rights of Chennai Express have been sold at a whopping Rs 48 crores and further to that, in a first of its kind deal, the film might make more money for its satellite rights if it crosses the Rs 100 crore mark. This time even the makers can’t shy away from saying that they don’t contemplate of the 100 crore club.
A Shah Rukh Khan release has always been synonymous with festival. Most SRK films from DDLJ, K2H2 to Jab Tak Hai Jaan have released during Diwali. This time Shah Rukh has captured the Eid season, a period when usually Salman Khan’s films release (Wanted, Bodyguard, Ek Tha Tiger). Such is the impact of the film that the other big release of the season Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai Dobaara has make a business-smart decision of moving ahead by a week over the ego and box-office clash.
In times when films are not even shown to the media before Friday in fear of negative word of mouth, Chennai Express brings back the trend of paid previews on Thursday evening. While some would consider that releasing a film on Thursday only means more revenues, it is a very risky decision for the fact that if the junta dislikes it, the business can fall drastically on Friday, even before the weekend sets in. But the extensive previews from early Thursday evening, speaks a lot about the confidence that the makers have in the film.
So Ready, Steady, Po!

Shahrukh puts his first home up for rent, Rs 3 lakh a month
The star puts his first home up for rent, but for a steep Rs 3 lakh a month.
Long before Mannat became a Mumbai landmark, Shah Rukh Khan was the resident of a rather inconspicuous Bandra apartment. The three bedroom living space on Carter Road, which was the superstar’s first purchased property in the city, is now available on rent for a steep Rs 3 lakh a month. Other than the rent, which according to local property dealers is a notch above the usual, the new residents will also have to shell out a deposit of around Rs 15 lakh for the space. The sea-facing flat on the seventh floor of Shree Amrit Apartments features three bedrooms, a living room and a kitchen with modular fittings. If you are hoping to score some SRK memorabilia from the flat you will be disappointed as the space is unfurnished though fully air conditioned.
A property dealer pointed out that he has been inundated with queries about the apartment within a day of it being on the market, thanks to the pull of SRK’s moniker, which also hangs on the nameplate outside the apartment. “The rent cheque would be issued in Shah Rukh’s name and there are many who are simply excited about living in a house which is owned by the star and used to be his home for a few years,” said one of the brokers marketing the property.
The brokers admit that the rent demanded by SRK is hefty as the amount is usually demaded for a much bigger space (4 BHK plus terrace) in the same locality. “For Rs 3 lakh I can offer you a much bigger apartment on a higher floor. But it won’t be Shah Rukh’s flat,” said the broker standing in the lobby of the building pointing at the name plate against flat no 702. A similar apartment in the locality would fetch between Rs 1.5 to 2 lakh at best.
The flat was Shah Rukh’s first purchased property in the city. Residents of the building revealed that he had moved in after the success of his debut film Deewana. “He used to drive a red Pajero those days. If I am not mistaken his son was born here too,” said a resident of the building.
Sources revealed that he stayed in the flat for a few years before buying a heritage bungalow on Bandstand and renaming it Mannat. The rest as they say is history but the star refuses to sell his first home.
“We have been told that the actor had some great days in this house and it was very lucky for him,” said a broker who has been dealing with the star’s office.

Its sad & unfair that new-born AbRam is subjected to my life: Shahrukh Khan
Superstar Shah Rukh Khan feels that its unfair to subject new-born AbRam to his life, which is constantly under media glare and wants his son to remain untouched by this job hazard.
Gauri and Shah Rukh Khan’s baby boy, through surrogacy was reportedly born on May 27 at 34 weeks of pregnancy. After spending almost seven weeks in the hospital, he is back home now. The couple already has two children – Aryan and Suhana.
“I am very happy that I am blessed by such a beautiful child. AbRam is my best production. I would not like to talk a lot about him because a lot of people have already spoken a lot of things before he deserved to or before my family or I could say anything. I think it was unfair for people to know half-truth and talk about it but I don’t hold it against anyone,” Shah Rukh told PTI.
“It is depressing and sad that someone who has just entered this world is subjected to my life. I would like him to be untouched by the world as much as possible,” he said.
While talking about his son, SRK seemed a bit emotional.
The 47-year-old actor did not wish to talk about his health.
Also, there were media reports that a pre-natal sex determination test had been conducted, following which the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had sent a team to SRK’s residence to ascertain the facts. The team, however, was turned away and SRK has rubbished all these speculations.
This Eid King Khan has two reasons to cheer – his new born son and ‘Chennai Express’, which releases on August 9.
“This Eid is really going to be very special because I have a new member in my family… everything else is secondary. I am going to celebrate it with my family and close friends,” Shah Rukh said.

Chennai Express all set to create new record for Paid Previews
While one waits to see if the Rs. 202 crore total of Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots would be threatened by Shah Rukh Khan’s Chennai Express, it is pretty much expected in the trade that at least one record held by Ace Khan is set to be broken. This evening UTV is all set to bring the Rohit Shetty directed affair on a record number of prints, hence giving it the hugest Paid Preview release ever in the history of Bollywood.
This also means that 3 Idiots record of approx Rs. 2.5 crore, which it had earned a night before its full-fledged release, is all set to be broken.
“While typically Paid Previews arrive at 3 or 4 shows on a Thursday night, it is at least triple or more for Chennai Express. It is a huge exception that has been made since Shah Rukh Khan is looking at making the best use of the platform that is available for it. All major multiplex chains are screening 10-12 shows from Thursday evening itself and a huge inflow of moolah is expected,” confirms a source.
While 3 Idiots stays on to be a record holder, recently Bhaag Milkha Bhaag too made a heady kick-start by accumulating more than Rs. 1 crore in Paid Previews. Prior to it some of the other notable films that have managed to strike a fortune a night before official release are Ghajini, Singh Is Kinng, Rock On and last year’s Jism 2. Incidentally, the film that started it all was Shah Rukh’s Don which had seen a modest, yet notable, Paid Preview release for itself.
Now the least that Chennai Express is expected to gather on Thursday is Rs. 5 crores, which would be double of what 3 Idiots had scored. However, few in the trade are pegging the number to be much higher.
“It makes sense though for him to arrive big this Thursday since Friday is a Eid holiday,” comments leading distributor Girish Johar, “For families it becomes all the more easy to plan for a Thursday night show as they don’t have to worry about Friday being a working day. Chennai Express is following a right strategy to make good amount of money from Thursday itself.”
Given the fact that majority of footfalls are anyways from evening onwards for any regular release, the fact that the party begins earlier for Shah Rukh Khan makes a statement around his confidence in the product.
“Of course there is always fear of something like this backfiring,” comments an exhibitor on the condition of anonymity, “If a film is rejected on Thursday itself, especially in the world of social networking where audience is the biggest critic today, it is tough for a film to stand back on its feet. This had happened withKites which was marred by poor word of mouth before its full fledged release. However, considering the fact that Shah Rukh has been in the business for long, he must have taken a well calculated risk here.”
However, the general mood in the industry is jubilant, what with talks of many records in the offering.
“I won’t comment on which film’s record would be broken but I can confidently say that Chennai Expressis going to create many records for sure, starting with Paid Previews,” says Girish Wankhade, Head Marketing, Cinemax and PVR (West), in a tongue-in-cheek tone.
“We are glad to screen 10-12 shows on Thursday itself for two reasons. First and foremost the buzz is very high and it makes sense to capitalize on that. Secondly, there is no other blockbuster in the running that can’t be moved. If we have slots available and we can bring a much awaited film like Chennai Express on Thursday evening itself, why won’t we do that”, he adds, “From Friday onwards there would be an average of 20 shows at all our major properties.”

My Hollywood role should make Indians proud: Shah Rukh Khan
Not interested in taking up a stereotypical role created for Asians in Hollywood, Bollywood’s superstar Shah Rukh Khan says “to get a role not specific to my colour or the way I speak or act is very difficult”.
He has been active in Hindi films for over two decades, has featured in more than 80 films and won the tag of “superstar”, but the 47-year-old has yet to find a suitable role in international films.
A hugely popular actor in many countries, one whose face has become synonymous with the huge draw of the Indian film industry, particularly the Bollywood, King Khan feels he doesn’t have the USP to work in Hollywood.
Asked what made him think so, he said: “I didn’t talk in terms of fan following.”
“I think the kind of role I would want to do in a Hollywood film is one that makes India proud. To get a role like that is not specific to my colour, or the way I speak, look or act or my age, it’s very difficult,” SRK told media.
“I mean you can’t go to a big filmmaking world and say write a role for a 47-year-old actor who is brown, has hair like this, acts this way, dances a bit… the role should be something that Indians should be proud of. It’s too specific for me to have a USP.”
He, however, appreciated Indian faces who are doing well on the international arena.
“There are a few young boys and girls, who are doing really well internationally, and I pray they make it big,” he said.
Shah Rukh relishes and cherishes all the love and attention showered on him on the home turf and is set to woo his fans with Chennai Express.
In fact, he is right now busy driving the buzz around the comedy drama, coming out Friday, his first film with new age master of comedies Rohit Shetty.
Sharing his experience of working with Shetty, Shah Rukh said: “Rohit is fantastically organised. The best part about him is that he has a group of 200 trained people working under him. Rohit knows what he wants. He always delivers the best.”
Chennai Express, Shah Rukh’s second film with Deepika Padukone after the 2007 super duper hit Om Shanti Om, has a popular train scene from his Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ).
Interestingly, in Chennai Express the name of Shah Rukh’s character is Rahul, a screen title he has donned in a string of hits.
He confesses to being a director’s actor.
“I’m a director’s actor. I belong to a world which directors create. I enjoy being with them in their world. I want the world to see me as an actor who moulds himself according to the character his director creates for him,” said Shah Rukh.
The Hindi film industry, which is celebrating its 100 years this year, has evolved with new filmmakers enlivening the silver screen with new subjects, Shah Rukh said, adding it’s not a new trend.
“There’s Gangs of Wasseypur, Barfi!… all kinds of films are being made, which is good,” said Shah Rukh.
“There have always been all kinds of filmmakers who make films like Iron Man, Batman and Chak De! India. It’s always parallel. When I did DDLJ, there was ‘Maya Memsaab’ too.
“I always try to work on a different genre. I feel the industry has given me name, fame and money and I won’t ever forgive myself if I won’t do anything beneficial for Indian cinema and my fans.”
From romantic to villainous and from action to superhero – SRK has delved into a variety of roles.
Asked how he is in real life, Shah Rukh said: “I am a little like all of them. There are parts and portions of me that you see in my characters also. If I play a father, I do it the way I would do it with my kids. If I play a lover, I behave the same way I am in real life. I would say I am a funny person but also gentle and kind.”
Deepika kisses Shahrukh everyday

Now before you go reading too much into it, SRK is happily married and is fond of his leading lady, the beautiful Miss Padukone. Both Deepika and SRK’s chemistry has been evident, first in Om Shanti Om and now in Rohit Shetty’s Chennai Express.
While they make a cute onscreen couple, what did Deepika really mean by this statement? She further added that she can only give him love and happiness. That we believe but a kiss daily?

Chennai Express to be screened, MNS won’t stop it !
A compromise seems to have been reached between filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s Chennai Express and Marathi film over the screening issue
On Thursday morning, Rohit Shetty met Raj Thackeray and explained to him that they had not forced any exhibitor to pull any Marathi film to accommodate Chennai Express. It is also learnt that shows between Chennai Express and Marathi film Duniyadari will be split.
On Wednesday, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena had threatened that it will not allow screening of Chennai Express in single screen cinemas if Marathi film is pulled down for it.
Ameya Khoppkar, president of the cine wing of MNS had told TOI, “Marathi film Duniyadari is doing well at the box office so we will not allow exhibitors to replace it with Chennai Express. If they do, we will not allow the screening of the film.
Meanwhile single screen cinemas have already signed on with distributors of the film to screen Chennai Express. Vice president of cinema owners association Nitin Datar said, “Exhibitors are in a fix. The only alternative I can see is distribution of the shows between Marathi film and Chennai Express.”

Kajol sends gifts for Shah Rukh Khan’s son AbRam
It must have been ages since Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol have come together on the big screen but the friendship between the two is still going strong. Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan’s surrogate son Abram has become the current talk of the town. The family has been since then, cherishing this private moment and has been receiving best wishes from friends and family. Kajol too stepped ahead and sent out a special gift to this new member of the Khan clan. She sent a baby basket along with some high end baby products for the child.
A little birdie reveals, “Kajol has sent baby gifts at SRK’s residence. It got delivered at his place yesterday (1st August). The gift contains a branded baby basket along with all the possible baby products of the best brands possible. She is really happy for Shah Rukh and sent special wishes to the family.”
Though Ajay Devgn might not share a good rapport with him but actress surely knows how to maintain her personal relations. A sweet gesture indeed!
SRK and Kajol were last seen together in My Name Is Khan. They say matches are made in heaven, but some matches go beyond the realm of heaven. The two shared an amazing on-screen chemistry since Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge. That also left the audience wanting to watch more of them.
You can’t be a legend without controversy: Shahrukh
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s Chennai Express will get the biggest release for any Indian film in the UK.
The comic caper, co-starring Deepika Padukone and directed by Rohit Shetty, will hit cinemas around the world to coincide with Eid next Friday.
“I am very glad the film is getting such a big release here. UK audiences are fantastic. I don’t believe that actors have regional appeal but I have to accept that some of my star value is largely down to audiences here,” said Khan, during a promotional tour for the film here.
“With all humility and kindness, I would like to request them to keep watching my films the same way. It is a great fun film, the kind I haven’t done before and I promise it will be a great ride,” he added, speaking to media-persons at Courthouse Hotel in central London.
The film is expected to release across 125 cinemas and 170 screens across the UK, marking one of the widest Bollywood releases in the country.
“As a Shah Rukh starrer and an all-out commercial entertainer, it does deserve the widest release of all time. In terms of marketing as well, we have gone all out. We just wanted to ensure that it is a movie that everyone has as their first choice this festival season when people want to go out and watch a movie,” said Siddharth Roy Kapur, managing director studios for Disney UTV, the co-producers and distributors of the film.
Chennai Express, described as an action-packed romantic comedy, brings Khan together with his Om Shanti Om co-star Deepika.
The film is set in South India and has resulted in some criticism of both actors’ shaky Tamil accents.
“As an entertainer for 22 years, one thing is clear in my head that I have never tried to depict anything wrong intentionally. People will always have their viewpoints, especially now with social media. But one doesn’t become a legend without controversies,” Khan joked.
